RYA Suzuki Dinghy Show is full of activities to entertain whole family

RYA Suzuki Dinghy Show 2015 - Over the weekend of 28 February-01 March everything you ever wanted to know about dinghy sailing plus hundreds of boats, brands and kit can be all be found under one roof at Alexandra Palace, North London.
Before you even get to the show, if you’re under 16, you could be in for a chance win a fantastic prize package in the ‘RS Design a Sail Sticker’ competition which includes a brand new personalised RS Tera worth £1,735. But you’ll have to hurry; the competition closes on Monday 23 February!
To take part all you have to do is design, colour and decorate the RS sail sticker which can be downloaded www.rya.org.uk/SiteCollectionDocuments/Dinghy%20Show/2015!here!now. In a new twist for 2015, the winning design will be created into a RS sail sticker for the new boat and unveiled at the show!
And if that’s not enough, RS Sailing will also loan a further two dinghies to the winner’s sailing club for the 2015 season (April-November). Don’t worry if you’re not a member, they’ll help to arrange membership at a local sailing club and loan the dinghies to that club for the period.
Younger visitors to The Green Blue stand (F34) can try out their detective skills by helping the RYA mascot Bob the Buoy and The Green Blue Forensic Team solve four mysteries of who polluted the marine environment.
Detectives who manage to match one or more of the suspects in the crime challenges will receive a small thank you for helping The Green Blue Team keep our waters a pleasant and safe place for boaters to enjoy. All those who successfully solve all four of the forensic challenges will also enter a mystery prize draw.
In the Panorama Hall, test the harnesses and your trapezing skills on the RYA Magic Marine Trapeze Rig before jumping on to the RS Sailing Simulator for a real-life feel for the motion of the boat without getting wet! You can also get your photo taken on our medal podium to feel like a real champion.
If you've already set your sights on Olympic gold then visit the RYA British Youth Sailing and Volvo Car UK stand (C36). RYA staff and representatives from class associations will share information and advice on how to get involved with all levels of racing from club or regional level through to RYA UK Youth Squads and beyond.
You can also have a go on the RYA Volvo Sail for Gold virtual sailing game and hang out in the interactive information zone with exclusive access to the latest coaching videos from Team Volvo and up to date information on the RYA Pathway.
Get creative with the Holt Blow Boat Challenge where you can design and build your own boat out of paper and straws to race against the other competitors to see if you can top the leader board. It costs just £1 a go with the money going towards the RYA Foundation.
Finally explore the show with the famous RYA Suzuki Dinghy Show treasure hunt collecting clues, stickers and treasure around the show to win some amazing prizes!
