New York Boat Show - the world's longest running

by NMMA on 31 Dec 2013
NY Boat Show commences tomorrow NMMA .
Commencing New Year's Day, the world's longest running boat show, the 2014 Progressive Insurance New York Boat Show, will celebrate its 109th year.

Organisers, the NMMA, says the event will boast the latest in luxury cruisers, sport fishers, sailboats, jet boats, cutting-edge marine technologies, lavish giveaways and more, dropping anchor at the Javits Center New Year’s Day. The country’s first and longest-running boat show is the ultimate shopping destination for the newest and best in boating.

Here’s a sneak peek of what show-goers can expect:

Big Boats & Tricked Out Runabouts
‘Queen of the Show’ Sea Ray Sundancer 510 – Each year the ‘Queen of the Show’ reigns as the largest boat for sale in overall length. This 51-foot, $1.5 million motor yacht is perfect for entertaining with top of the line interiors featuring panoramic windows, retractable sunroof and extravagantly high ceilings; an entertainment center complete with a gaming system port, iPod docking stations and standard LED flat screen TV and remote DVD player. The 51-foot vessel sleeps six passengers in two staterooms.

Prestige 450 Flybridge – Nominated for the 2014 'European Power Boat of the Year,' this 45-foot motor yacht features sleek and elegant lines and an innovative layout, two staterooms, a settee that easily converts to additional sleeping space and a swim platform that lowers hydraulically to easily launch a tender or create a 'teak beach'

Back Cove Downeast 37 – Back Cove’s latest design measures 42-feet (including swim dock) and boasts a 12-foot by 12-foot cockpit with a retractable awning, Herreshoff style interiors with white panels and raised wooden trim and one stateroom.

Regal 32 Express – Making its debut at the show, this highly stylized 32-foot yacht is the only boat in its class to feature a king size bed in one of its two staterooms. The vessel also offers slide-away cockpit seating and large windows for an abundance of natural light that gives boaters a sense of expanded space on extended stays.

Scarab 195 Jet Boat – Looking for a smaller craft that boasts the latest technologies and trends? This 19-foot fiberglass runabout jet boat seats eight passengers with one-touch convertible seating, provides first class performance with speeds ranging from 150 to 250 horsepower and offers easy maneuverability and shallow water accessibility.

Cutting-Edge Marine Technologies:
Gadget-obsessed gurus and tech-savvy sailors should gear up for shopping! The show offers a variety of the latest and greatest technologies including new HD-quality cameras, wireless stereo controllers, state-of-the-art GPS devices, wireless network displays featuring Wi-Fi and Bluetooth capabilities, plus custom-made weather accessories and more.
