London Boat Show to introduce new cruise element

by Emma York on 16 Oct 2013

Come and join the London Boat Show at ExCeL London in January 2014 where there will be a brand new exhibition, the Telegraph Cruise Show. Taking place across the final weekend, Friday 10 - Sunday 12th January, will be a dedicated cruise show owned and run by the Telegraph Media Group, which promises to be the biggest and best event that cruise holidaymakers have seen.

Visitors to the London Boat Show and the Telegraph Cruise Show will be able to gain entry into both shows. With a very similar demographic and interest, the cruise event’s expected audience of 25,000 will be an ideal audience for London Boat Show exhibitors offering an additional opportunity to showcase and sell marine products, services and holidays.

Demand for cruise holidays is high, with more than 1.7million passengers taking cruise holidays each year. A record number of ships will include a UK port of call during the 2013-14 season, while the world’s largest cruise ship, Oasis of the Seas, will also be making its first transatlantic sailing from the UK.

The London Boat Show will enjoy dual promotion with this new event, via The Telegraph’s dedicated database of cruise goers and extensive coverage and promotion in The Telegraph, its Travel section and cruise supplements as well as other marketing.

Murray Ellis, Managing Director of National Boat Shows said: 'The Telegraph Cruise Show will be a great addition to the world-famous London Boat Show. The Show will provide an additional, relevant audience for our exhibitors, whilst offering our visitors even more to see and experience.'

The Telegraph Cruise Show will provide the ideal environment for both experienced and first-time cruisers to learn everything they need to know about holidays afloat. All the major lines will have their best consultants on hand to update visitors on their latest ships, itineraries and excursions as well as unveil exclusive offers, competitions and other booking incentives. Just some of those confirmed include Cunard, Saga Cruises, Royal Caribbean Cruises, Princess Cruises, P&O Cruises, Celebrity Cruises and Silversea Cruises.

The three-day event will be packed full of innovative features. Highlights include a destination theatre featuring the Telegraph’s leading columnists, its award-winning cruise and destination experts as well as presentations from the main cruise line; a specialist stage showcasing cruise lines’ ever-expanding range of adventurous itineraries and shore experiences; a children’s area where younger visitors can scale a climbing wall; and a unique one-to-one consultation lounge where first-timers can seek advice on the best cruise for their London Boat Show
