A 92-year-old Portland woman was rescued by two Good Samaritans after driving her car off a boat ramp in Belfast, Maine.
Belfast Police Officer Wendall Ward said Evan Lenfest drove down Main Street, onto the boat ramp and into the deep water.
Bryden Burleson, an employee at Belmont Boat Works, and assistant Harbormaster Howard Whitcomb rescued Lenfest.
Ward said the water was covered by leaves at the time of the accident. He said rain and poor visibility were also factors.
U.S. Coast Guard spokesman Lt. Scott McCann said Lenfest was evaluated on the scene and is expected to be OK. McCann said the Department of Environmental Protection is heading up the recovery and cleanup
