420 Nationals - The day that almost was. Bright sunshine and gentle breeze excited sailors ready for the first real day of competition. One of us was out on a patrol boat ready for duty when the AP went up and an ominous dense, white mass approached very quickly.
Fog, lots of it.
The 420's remained on the beach and our patrol boat was quickly diverted to trying to find lost kayaks.
A football game was quickly convened on the beach with the Kiwis and Brazilians keeping the French honest. Thankfully no injuries after a couple of hours, there was some thought of getting the Rugby ball but sanity prevailed.
The call came from the PRO that a decision would be made by 3.30pm and as the fog had become more and more dense, time to go home.
It is a little tricky to find the official sites for the French 420 Coupe (Nationals) but the links are posted as follows. The Club is Centre Nautical Plenuef Val Click here for full results
