The 2015 Down Under Rally now has 25 registered yachts participating and several more expressions of interest from yachts that are considering also joining the rally.

Of the 25 yachts that have already registered 10 have already arrived in Australia. The remaining 15 are either on route or looking to depart from New Caledonia, Vanuatu and Fiji in the coming week or so.

The fleet comprises mostly international flagged yachts from countries including Germany, France, Canada, USA, and UK and New Zealand.

Most will call Newcastle home for cyclone season (November 2015-April 2016) and will be doing some cruising in the waters of the Central NSW coast and Sydney before heading north to explore Queensland and the Great Barrier Reef .

The 50 plus crewmembers of these visiting yachts are excited to be coming Down Under and most all intend to not only cruise the East Coast of Australia but also explore the country by land as well.

The first official event of the 2015 Down Under Rally is 'Welcome Week'

Welcome Week kicks off on November 15th at the Newcastle Cruising Yacht Club and is designed to be very social with rally participants, sponsors and invited guests attending the events .

It promises to be a fun, informative and memorable few days !

Below is the Welcome Week event calendar.
