US Opti Southeast Championship’s Pensacola PRO John Matthews has made known that the Notice of Race is now posted on the US Optimist Dinghy Association (USODA) website and that registration is now open. Pensacola Yacht Club (PYC) is gearing up for another fantastic championship regatta like it is famous for hosting.

On the first day of the 2013 Delta Lloyd Regatta, despite the rain and cold, the sailors put on all the warmest gear to start the first races. It was an intense day on the water with a tight programme. Olympic and Paralympic classes sailed three races apart from the 49ers and RS:X who had four races back to back.

At the 2013 Korea Cup International Yacht Race, the 25 teams competing are on the island of Ulleung, off the eastern coast of Korea, where they arrived yesterday after leg 1 of the two offshore races. A volcanic island, the main activities on Ulleung are fishing, and in particular harvesting squid, which is considered a delicacy and even has its own festival.

The 2013 Finn World Masters has been officially opened at the Société des Régates Rochelaises (SRR) in La Rochelle, France, though Sunday's practice race was cancelled as strong winds, accompanied by incessant rain, kept the sailors ashore all day. A few sailors did venture out for some last minute practice, while the rest preserved their energy for the racing which starts Monday.

After two days of inshore races on 16 and 17 May, the first offshore leg of the Korea Cup International Yacht Race commenced on Saturday 18 May from the city of Uljin. This first of two offshore legs, took the 25 teams on a challenging 86 nautical mile race track offshore to the volcanic island of Ulleung, with light conditions dominating the early stage of the race and really testing the crews.

Enfant Terrible was sailing in fifth place of the final race at the Farr 40 East Coast Championship when tactician Vasco Vascotto made a bold move. On Saturday morning the Luna Rossa AC72 sailed for the first time in San Francisco in the bay where the Louis Vuitton Cup and America’s Cup regattas will take place starting July 7th.
With an early morning roll out, Luna Rossa sailed in light winds (3 knots) that increased up to 12 and allowed the crew to carry out an extensive number of manoeuvres.

Kirby Inc. yesterday dramatically increased the pressure on LP, ISAF and the ILCA when they asked the US Federal Court in Connecticut to issue a prejudgment remedy against LP.
If this was to be granted as requested LP and its associates would be unable to build Lasers or have anyone else build them for them, while the Courts then could take their time hearing the case.
