What would happen if all of the sailors in the world could race each other on a truly level playing field? It would be fascinating but unfortunately it’s impossible: there are too many sailors, too many different types of boats and types of racing - plus the money can skew the playing field …

A credible online alternative

SailX is a high-quality multiplayer online racing simulation used by some of the world’s best sailors, coaches and teams to train and teach the strategies and tactics of inshore sailboat racing.

While it’s not sailing, SailX is a credible and highly competitive testing ground for the racing sailor: boat speed and boat-handling are not worth a lot if you are sailing in the wrong direction!

Today SailX is delighted to announce the first ever Virtual Sailing World Championship.

The Virtual Sailing World Championship will start on Sun 26th April and conclude on 31st May with a Grand Final - a single regatta between the Top-30. Winner-takes-all.

Entry is fully open and free.

Get the jump on your real sailing rivals

No other racing simulator comes close to SailX for the quality of racing or level of activity. Use this valuable tool to get the jump on your real sailing rivals this season.

SailX currently features

• A 12-person race every six minutes 24/7/365 on average
• Highly accurate rules engine (1.5m decisions / year)
• Human moderation for live chat, racing and protests
• Over 3 million boat-finishes to date
• A searchable database of over 18,000 ruled protests

Finally, hot off the press ...

For all you team racers out there, we are delighted to announce that we will be running a virtual version of the 2015 ISAF Team Racing World Championship on SailX. Details to follow in due course.

To find out more about the real championship, click here. Entry is still open so if you would like to take part, please register your interest with details of nationality, experience and whether you would like to helm and/or crew by e-mail to: rutlandteamracing@gmail.com.

Enjoy!
