New members of Canadian Sailing Team have been selected based on their performances at a designated qualifying regatta. This year's team lineup include many familiar faces such as three times Olympian Nikola Girke, 2012 Olympians Luke Ramsay (Nacra 17), and Zac Plavsic (RSX:M).

Securing their national team status early in the year at the IFDS World Championships include Paralympics sailors Bruce Millar (2.4mR), John McRoberts/Jackie Gay (SKUD) Paul Tingley, Logan Campbell, and Scott Lutes (SONAR). 'Our team is excited to be part of the Canadian Sailing Team for another year. It should be an exciting year as we prepare for the IFDS worlds in Australia in November. Our team will be based in Toronto and looking forward to sailing with the coaches and other national team members there.'

There are a total of five new team members earning National Team status including Radial sailor Sarah Douglas, sister to Olympian Greg Douglas. Team veteran Nikola Girke is also looking forward to the year ahead saying, 'I'm proud and excited to be part of the Canadian Sailing Team alongside so many talented sailors and dedicated teammates. This year, 2015 is a big year for many of us as we try to qualify ourselves for the 2016 Olympic Games and compete in Toronto 2015. Lending our support to each other will help us all as we strive for excellence.'

High Performance Director Ken Dool is preparing the team for a significant year in the quadrennial. '2015 is the Year of Sport and we are looking forward to building our team for Rio and beyond', states Ken Dool. 'The 2015 Canadian Sailing Team includes both the future performers in our sport and the veteran team members looking to make their mark internationally. I take pleasure in welcoming both new team members and veteran performers to the 2015 Canadian Sailing Team.'

Sail Canada would like thank our supporters Sport Canada, Own the Podium, Volvo Cars of Canada, Helly Hansen, Skippers' Plan, Rolex Canada and North Country Marine.

Congratulations to the following members of the team.
