by Sail Canada on 8 Jul 2015
Annie Mitchell Sail Canada / Voile Canada http://www.sailing.ca/
Annie Mitchell of the Royal Canadian Yacht Club in Toronto, Ontario, has been named June's volunteer of the month.

Annie's cheer and commitment to running great races stands behind the growth of match racing at RCYC and in the GTA. Annie runs weekend and weeknight races for the guys' and girls' teams at RCYC and at the National Yacht Club (also in Toronto). She travels extensively to join the Race Committees at the Oakcliff Sailing Centre and Chicago in the U.S. - taking roles as Principal Race Officer, Deputy Race Officer and Race Officer. She supports the growth of Canada's Match Racing Program in Toronto through her dedicated support to the RCYC team, and in organizing events and finding key volunteers to make events happen.

Fellow RCYC members tout their luck in having Annie as a tireless member of their team - always providing an encouraging atmosphere to all, keeping the sailors and officials excited.

Volunteer positions held at RCYC:
• Principal Race Officer
• Deputy Race Officer
• Match Race Team Support
