The very close racing continues at the front of the Volvo 65 fleet. On Friday Charles Caudrelier‘s Dongfeng briefly took the lead but by Saturday morning Ian Walker had Abu Dhabi 16 miles in the lead, only 1600 miles from Capetown. In a Regatta Memorandum issued to the teams today, Commercial Commissioner Schiller confirmed two America’s Cup World Series events have already met the hosting criteria and had been scheduled to be raced in 2015 by the America’s Cup Event Authority. Dave Robertson has become the first successful Kite Boarder to complete the 120nm PIC Coastal Classic from Auckland to Russell. His time of 7hours 28mins makes him the fastest solo sailor and board sailor to complete the 120nm race.
