Canadian Nacra breaks through - ISAF Sailing World Cup Hyeres Will Ricketson
ISAF World Cup Hyères – Sunday marked the final day of racing in Hyères with live streaming of the medal races including Laser, Radial, RSX and Nacra 17. Canadian Nacra team Luke Ramsay and Nikola Girke made their debut in World Cup medal racing, cracking into the top ten for the first time on the World Cup circuit.

Girke commented “We won race six in the series and it feels great to have our hard work start to pay off. We are really working solidly as a team and we know we are just scratching the surface.”

Besson/Riou (FRA) were crowned champions while the Dutch fill the podium with the remaining spots.

Isabella Bertold had her ups and downs in the Radial class last week with certain game time decisions proving costly with an overall finish position of 14th. Bertold is currently ranked seventh in the ISAF Rankings.

Canadian 49erFX team Erin Rafuse/Danielle Boyd continue to demonstrate their speed on the race course with multiple top tens on the scoreboard in Hyères.

Posting a World Cup personal best of 16th overall, the duo show no signs of slowing down and will look to move into medal race position in Weymouth.
