Extreme Sailing Series 2015 - Entry opens: Muscat confirmed as host Extreme Sailing Series http://www.extremesailingseries.com
Who’s up for the challenge of the world’s only annual and global Stadium Racing series? With entry now open for the 2015 Extreme Sailing Series™, and the Notice of Race available, Series organiser OC Sport and Series Main Partner Land Rover are officially inviting team entries, for what will be the ninth year of competition on the international sailing calendar.

OC Sport has also confirmed the fleet will be once again returning to the Middle East, and from 11-14 March, Muscat, Oman will host Act two of the 2015 global tour. Oman has been a regular fixture on the calendar for the past four years and a favourite amongst the fleet with a beautiful climate and consistent breeze.

Sailors from all over the globe will once again challenge for the Series title and a full grid of eight teams is expected for the Series – a mix of existing teams and new blood with the first teams’ entries to be announced in the coming weeks.

The 2015 Series will continue to build on its already successful format, developed and fine-tuned over the last eight years; Stadium Racing, in iconic city-centre locations around the world, in a format that is challenging for the best sailors in the world and appealing to spectators and commercial brands, including Series Main Partner Land Rover, who will continue to help develop and grow the Series in 2015. Each Act will be contested over four days: one day of potential open water racing traditionally reserved for media followed by three days of Stadium Racing open to public and VIP guests.

The first start gun of 2015 will be fired in Singapore, Host Venue for Act one from the 5th-8th February, with Muscat now confirmed as the second stop on the global tour, hosted by local partners Oman Sail. Oman is the most successful nation in the history of the Series, with Omani teams having lifted the trophy a staggering three times. David Graham, Oman Sail CEO, spoke about the importance of events like the Extreme Sailing Series to the wider Oman Sail objectives: 'We are delighted to welcome the Extreme Sailing Series back to Muscat for a fifth consecutive year. This globally acclaimed stadium sailing event is an integral part of our Omani sailors' training programme and provides our sponsors with an efficient platform to reach their target audiences around the world. Hosting international sailing events is central to Oman Sail's strategy of using the power of sport to promote Oman and contribute to the socio-economic development of the country.'

Additional venue, team and partner announcements will be made over the coming months. Full information on the complete circuit is being supplied confidentially to the teams ahead of the individual public venue announcements.
The entry period is open now and closes 1 November 2014. Teams interested in entering the Series, or who are interested in receiving a copy of the Notice of Race, should contact the Extreme Sailing Series, here Event website
