2015 U.S. Youth Sailing Championships - New dates set

2015 U.S. Youth Sailing Championships - The dates for the 2015 U.S. Youth Championships, hosted by Eastern Yacht Club in Marblehead, Mass., have been changed to July 6-10 from the traditional second week in August.

This is in response to multiple conflicts with international events this summer, including Club 420 North Americans, 29er Worlds, and Radial Youth Worlds.

The new dates will allow sailors to participate in this premiere youth championship and ISAF Youth Worlds Qualifier in this country, as well as international events that will best prepare them for the highest levels of youth sailing.

Online applications will open in January and close on March 15, 2015. The following disciplines will be sailed at the event:

• Laser – Open
• Laser Radial – Open
• Boys I-420
• Girls I-420
• Boys 29er
• Girls 29er
• F-16 – Open
• Boys RS:X 8.5
• Girls RS:X 8.5

Sailors may be accepted through placing well at Early Acceptance events and applying online or by submitting a resume and applying online. Approximately 50 sailors have received early acceptance so far. There are still several early acceptance events on the calendar: Laser Midwinters East, Open Orange Bowl, MLK Regatta and Club 420 Midwinters.
