Phaedo 3 - 2015 RORC Transatlantic Race Rachel Jaspersen
2015 RORC Transatlantic Race - In clearing skies off Arrecife, Lanzarote, Phaedo³ showed the rest of the competitors in the RORC Transatlantic Race 2015, and spectators ashore the amazing speed of the MOD70.
Starting 10 minutes behind the bulk of the fleet, Phaedo³, together with two other multihulls quickly passed through the fleet and at the first turning mark off Puerto Calero, Phaedo³ had a very respectable lead on all competitors. Brian Thompson, Miles Seddon, Pete Cumming, Sam Goodchild, Henry Bomby and Paul Allen then settled into a long port gybe under genneker at speeds in excess of 30 knots before gybing for the gap between Lanzarote and Fuerteventura. Ahead of them is at time of writing 2704 miles to Grenada in the Caribbean.
