ISAF Youth Sailing World Championship 2015 - The Notice of Race for the 2015 ISAF Youth Sailing World Championship that will be held in Langkawi, Malaysia from 27 December 2015 to 3 January 2016 has been released.

The ISAF Youth Worlds has seen a whole host of star studded names compete and take honours across its 44 year history. Over 300 of the world’s top youth sailors are expected to compete in Langkawi in a bid to add their name to the star studded list that includes Olympic and America’s Cup stars such as Russell Coutts (NZL), Alessandra Sensini (ITA) and Ben Ainslie (GBR).

The 2015 ISAF Youth Worlds, the 45th edition of the regatta, will see the addition of the Girl’s Skiff – 29er where the winner will be awarded with a brand new ISAF perpetual trophy, the Malaysia Sailing Association President’s Trophy.

Thirteen races are scheduled in the boy’s and girl’s windsurfing (RS:X), boy’s and girl’s skiff (29er) and open multihull (SL16) whilst there will be nine in the boy's and girl's one person dinghy (Laser Radial) and boy's and girl's two person dinghy (420).

On-line registration opens on 1 February 2015 via the event website. Competitors, team leaders and coaches shall enter by completing the on-line registration and paying the required fees. Entries must be received no later than 1 May 2015 to qualify for the early entry fee and will not be accepted after 1 June 2015. Entry in the event is not final until on-line registration is completed.

ISAF Youth Worlds Technical Delegate Antonio Gonzalez de la Madrid said, 'Langkawi will see the events at the ISAF Youth Worlds rise from eight to nine with the addition of the girl’s skiff, the 29er. This will help to improve the pathway for talented young female sailors from junior sailing to the Olympic scene.

'Langkawi’s venue and infrastructure are a perfect match for the ISAF Youth Worlds and ISAF looks forward to working with the Malaysian Sailing Association in the build-up to the 45th edition of the regatta.'

Open to competitors aged under 19 in the year of the championship (i.e. for Langkawi, under 19 on 31 December 2015) in the events and equipment listed (all supplied), the Youth Worlds occupies a unique place in the sailing calendar. Entry is limited to one boat per nation, per event, with highly competitive national qualification events taking place to decide who will have the honour of representing their Event website
