2012 Route Halifax-St. Pierre Race Mike Evans
The Route Halifax - Saint-Pierre race is a world class ocean race held every two years (opposite the Marblehead - Halifax race) from Halifax, Nova Scotia Canada to Saint-Pierre, France located just off the beautiful coast of Newfoundland. The race starts July 8th, 2014 and offers seaworthy yachts the opportunity to compete in an ocean race from Halifax to Saint-Pierre (RHSP) and a course race, the Allianz Grand Prix, at Saint-Pierre.

The intention of the event is to create relationships between sailors from Europe and North America, to celebrate the sea and to enjoy the truly French environment at Saint-Pierre. A cordial invitation to enter RHSP 2014, and to celebrate Bastille Day on July 14th is extended to sailors everywhere. More information about the race can be found at http://routehalifaxsaintpierre.com

Derek Hatfield's Spirit of Adventure Challenges is signed up for the race and will be taking reservations from sailors with all levels of ability who want the experience of ocean racing on a Volvo 60. Joining Derek is Chris Stanmore-Major, also an experienced round the world sailor who was a rival of Derek's in the VELUX 5 Oceans race. Details are available by contacting, Spirit of Canada Ocean Challenges, at sail@spiritofcanada.net
