Can you run a campaign like this in a Magazine? Not in a Million years

by Jeni Bone on 25 Apr 2009
Participants need to fill out 20 simple questions to go into the running to win a sensational $9000 laser! Performance Sailcraft
To celebrate the 2009-2010 season, Performance Sailcraft Australasia, the ‘down under’ Laser builder has teamed with Sail-World to launch an online interactive competition.

Visitors can enter online now to win a choice of a Laser 4.7, a Laser Radial or a Laser Standard sailing boat, built by Performance Sailcraft Australasia and worth around AUD$9,200.

Participants need to answer 20 questions and in 25 words or less convince the judges they are the worthy winner.

Although only five days in to a six month campaign, the competition has reaped more than 500 entries, each yielding valuable information about consumer habits, preferences and buying position.

Chris Caldecoat, CEO of PSA said this morning he is ecstatic with the response so far. 'We could not get the amazing response we are having from the Sail-World online competition from any sailing magazine advertising campaign.

'In fact, the high quality lead generation information we are gathering online could never ever be gained via a print publication. Not in a million years.'

The competition is open to allcomers, in Australasia.

To enter, simply visit www.sail-world.com and fill out the survey. Plenty of key marine industry players have already entered.

While you are answering the 20 questions, think what valuable data you too could collect with interactive media on a high traffic marine website.

Then call TetraMedia, the publisher of Sail-World.com, MarineBusinessNews.com and Powerboat-World.com on +612 4977 2116 or emails us at advertising@tetra-media.com

P.S. This campaign has become so successful that PSA have been overwhelmed with hot leads. They now have a special database to allow them to track all these leads. What a problem to have!

The delivery home. It has always struck me that it does not get anywhere near the attention of the way down, but back up needs just as much care and consideration.
