Boaters reminded to keep clear of Cudgen Creek at Kingscliff

by Roads and Maritime Services on 5 Sep 2013
SW
Boaters are being reminded to steer clear of a section of Cudgen Creek at Kingscliff this Saturday for the safe staging of the Corporate Challenge International Triathlon Swimming competition.

Roads and Maritime Services has granted an exclusive use aquatic licence from Faulks Park boat ramp upstream of Cudgen Road bridge to Jack Julius Park on Saturday 7 September from 3pm to 5pm.

This area will be used exclusively by swimmers during the two hour race with the area to be marked by buoys several hours before the event and monitored by control vessels.

For safety reasons, skippers should avoid this section of Cudgen Creek on Saturday from about midday on Saturday until the race buoys are collected.

Vessels not involved in event will not be able to enter the area unless authorised by a boating safety officer or a police officer.
