Bill Barry-Cotter elevated to Hall of Fame

After a 52 year career and launching and running three highly successful boat manufacturing companies Bill Barry-Cotter has received the highest industry accolade in the country being inducted into the Boating Industry of Australia’s NSW Hall Of Fame.

He now sits along side such boating industry icons as Carl Halvorsen.

Mr Barry-Cotter who now heads up Maritimo first started in business in the industry with Mariner Cruisers when he was just 22 years of age. He has been involved in the industry since he was 20.

After selling Mariner Cruisers Mr Barry-Cotter went on to establish Riviera in 1980 eventually selling it in 2002 for $180 million.

Two years later he established Maritimo which is now one of the world’s most successful luxury cruiser manufacturers.

After receiving his award at the recent Sydney International Boat Show Mr Barry Cotter said of his career: 'I’ve enjoyed the ride.'

Maritimo enjoyed a solid performance at the Sydney show with the world release of the new M45 Cruising Motoryacht causing considerable interest and strong sales.
