Paul Buccholz’s DK46 eXtasea, skippered by Ullman Sailmaker Tony Bull - ORCV Melbourne to Geelong Yacht Race, Geelong, Victoria
Congratulations to Paul Buchholz and team on DK46 'eXtasea' who won both IRC 1 and PHS 1 divisions. Lou Abrahams on Sydney 38 'Challenge' took first place in the one design class, followed by Greg Clinnick’s 'Audacious.' Rob Davis’ X-35 'Nutcracker' sealed the AMS Division 1.
The Melbourne Winter Series run under the auspices of the Ocean Racing Club of Victoria concluded with the final passage race from Melbourne to Geelong. The annual MWS was first conducted in 1971 as a way to keep crews prepared, when the weather made venturing out into Bass Strait somewhat unsavoury. The seven-race series has become one of the key regattas in Port Phillip, which saw up to 50 boats competing this year.
Congratulations to all Ullman Sails customers who competed!
