Beta Marine supplies engine and gen set to replica lugger

Marine engine specialists, Beta Marine have supplied a Beta 75 marine engine and Beta Gen12kW generator to the replica lugger, Grayhound, which was recently launched in Millbrook in Devon. The Grayhound is a three masted lugger; the first of its kind to have been built in Britain for over 200 years.

Beta Marine were asked to supply a Beta 75 engine which they produced in a custom-made acoustic enclosure to give an exceptionally quiet engine. In addition the yacht is fitted with a 12kW Beta generator.

Beta Marine offer a range of quiet, low emission engines suitable for all types of boats from dayboats up to 60ft yachts as well as a range for inland narrowboats; prices start from £3290 inc Vat.

Beta Marine are celebrating 25 years of successful trading in 2012 and recently announced a record turnover for the last financial year.
