Boats from Skandia Geelong Week’s co-host venue, the Royal Yacht Club of Victoria, grabbed first and third places in the S80 Series at the event.
Anthony Beck and his crew on Escape were nearly unstoppable, winning three of the five race series, with clubmate Bas Huibers sailing Merak into third place following a win in Race 1.
Colin McGregor upset the clean sweep when he raced Mood Indigo into second place with a couple of second places and a third in his score card.
'The Royals' put on a great show for local and visiting yachties during the first two races of Skandia Geelong Week.
Organising great bands and BBQs on their perfectly placed front lawn, with race prize givings straight after racing, all had a good time in Williamstown prior to heading down to Geelong, where the Royal Geelong Yacht Club put on the rest of the series with great racing and shore side entertainment second to none for all, including a 12 minute fireworks display last evening, bands and the Roulettes and Pip Borman.
