As the Australian sailing season gets into full swing, Ullman Sails customer Paul Clitheroe and crew on Beneteau First 45 'Balance' have quickly proven their speed and smarts on the racecourse.

The 'Balance' team recently captured both the IRC and PHS overall win at 2009 Sydney Short Ocean Racing Championship (SORC) hosted by Middle Harbour Yacht Club. Fully powered by Ullman Sails, Clitheroe and crew beat Bill Ebsary’s Beneteau First 44.7 'Le Billet,' which was competing for its 4th straight SORC win.

The SORC consisted of two ocean passage races held November 28-29, in Sydney harbor. Clitheroe said, 'It was a good outing for us. The 12-20 knot range and into the wind is definitely this boat’s sweet spot.'

The 'Balance' win in Sydney follows their recent victory at Audi Hamilton Island Race Week in August where they claimed first overall in IRC Passage 1 division. The Hamilton Island regatta was the Beneteau First 45’s debut event.
