With the win, double success is also extended to crew member Jeff Reynolds, and Bill Hardesty who becomes a two-time Melges 20 World Champion tactician.

Despite a 10 in Saturday’s only race at the J/22 North American Championship, Terry Flynn’s Tejas holds the top spot heading into the final day of competition from Houston Yacht Club in Texas. Now that five races are scored, a discard comes into play, allowing local Flynn to drop the 10 and leave a line of one, one, three, one for six net points.

SailRocket, the fastest sailing boat in the world set to fly again
Today started with a lovely, blue and crisp Autumn morning. We opened the creaky doors of the container and let the dawns early light flood in. The container had been taken over as a workshop and home to the Sailrocket 3 models but now they have served their purposes and been cleared out. The 'box' belonged to Sailrocket 2 again... and today was all about her.

Today’s story involves a 24 hour 'heavy weather training run' aboard GS2 in preparation for the upcoming lap. The weather forecast for Wed/Thurs/Fri was grim - torrential rains followed by winds of 20 to 35 mph and big seas - sounded like a good opportunity to get my ass kicked and see what did and didn't work on the boat in these extreme conditions and try to get it fixed before the big trip.

The J/22 North American Championship, hosted by Houston Yacht Club in Texas, got underway Friday in gorgeous conditions, allowing four races to be completed. Local Terry Flynn on Tejas controlled the leaderboard with tallies of one, one, three, one for only six points.

The second day of completed 2015 Audi Melges 20 World Championship racing in San Francisco boasted spectacular conditions with the daily MVP award being handed to 12-year old Liam Kilroy on Wildman. Two bullets, plus an eighth place finish in Race Six has him holding firm in second place, right behind his reigning World Champion dad - John Kilroy on Samba Pa Ti in first place.
