Australians to showcase innovation at METS 2013

The Australian exhibitors at the Marine Equipment Trade Show (METS) in 2013 will continue to showcase world class quality and innovative products.

Many of the exhibitors are already well established within the global arena and this year the Australian pavilion will feature the launch of many new to market products. To ensure visitors to METS have quality information regarding Australian products and services, the AIMEX 2014 Australian Marine Industry Export Directory will be available at the show and online at www.aimex.asn.au

The Australian Pavilion will be located in Hall 11 featuring; AirBerth Boat Lifts, Austral Propellers, Adit Marine, Aqualuma LED Lighting, Barz Optics, Coursemaster Autopilots, GME, Greencorp Marine, Hydrive Engineering, Kinetic, Muir Winches, MultiPanel, Palm Products, PolyFlex Group, PowerDive, Release & Retrieve Boatlatch, Ronstan International, Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show, SOS Marine, Superior, TMQ, Top Gear Marine and VEEM Limited (see company profiles below).

Due to popular demand AIMEX has again organised their invitation only Australian Outback Networking Party which will occur on Wednesday, November 20 at the Australian Outback Café in Hall 11. Australian food and wine will accompany a vibrant evening of networking. The Australian Outback Party is firmly established in the METS schedule of must attend events, continuing its reputation for hosting key industry stakeholders and contacts.

Australian Marine Industry Exporter of the Year VEEM Limited, will again be exhibiting at METS 2013. VEEM will be launching the VEEM Gyro 40. This product is the first in a series of four powerful, highest quality roll gyro stabilization devices specifically engineered for use on large boats and small ships. The VEEM Gyro range has been developed for vessels from 25 to 80 meters and is suitable for luxury yachts, naval patrol vessels and commercial work boat applications. VEEM will also be releasing an online calculation tool called GyroSize that customizes VEEM Gyro. These products offer a new quality level of comfort to discerning vessel operators.

Palm Products, designers and manufacturers of high quality injection moulded components and the largest supplier of unbreakable drinkware to the Australian retail market will be launching their latest range of Marc Newson unbreakable drinkware with a gold metal-effect base and black-tinted top. 'This product is proving popular with high-end boat owners, the new range exudes an elegance and class not seen before,' said Managing Director Robert Wilson.

TMQ’s popular computer based chart plotting system, C-Plot, will be re-launched at METS as C-Plot Nav+ to reflect its compatibility with Navionics cartography. The C-Plot Nav+ provides an intuitive, reliable and easy to use computer-based chart plotting system designed for both recreational and professional applications. Incorporating Navionics charting capabilities the system links with new cartography for ease of management and navigation. Constant updates and new coverage areas can be downloaded to the SD card through internet connection.


Well-known Australian company Ronstan International, will have new innovative products on display at METS. The Ronstan Quick-Lock will be exhibited and is the quickest and most user friendly winch handle available. In addition to its super-fast grab-and-release mechanism for fool proof single handed removal, it is the only handle to feature the patented auto quick-locking mechanism that lets you put the handle in the winch without depressing a lever or rotating a knob. The recently launched Continuous Line Furler, Gen 2 continuous line furlers are now available in both traditional code zero and dedicated top-down models and will also be on display at the stand. Top-down furling provides a new level of simplicity, safety and speed for handling of soft luff sails such as asymmetric spinnakers and gennakers. The Ronstan stand is sure to be a hive of activity in 2013.

SOS Marine will be showcasing man-overboard innovations. At the forefront of professional buoyancy safety design, SOS Marine design world class products. The multi-award winning SOS Dan Buoy rescue system, weighing only 4 kilos, is ready to deploy at any time. The SOS Dan Buoy has won several prestigious awards including the Australian Engineering Excellence Award for Welfare, Health & Safety. The SOS 2 Person Life Raft, weighing 7.5 kilos, offers coastal an easier system to use. The raft has optional emergency aids and a canopy. It is easy to maintain with reduced servicing costs. Servicing over 12 National Defence Forces worldwide, SOS Marine will continue their renowned success for pioneering safety products at METS.

Greencorp Marine will have presence for the first time at METS this year, profiling their innovative marine coatings. After years of research and development, Greencorp Marine launched PropGold™, a foul release coating system which prevents sealife from adhering to underwater metal components. Greencorp Marine’s product range also includes a 2 part teak cleaner and a sealer. Their teak products maintain and protect teak decks.
