America's Cup: Parties and Posters go to the International Jury
Thu, 18 Jul 2013
Two of the parties at least, in the 2013 America's Cup, seem to be keen to have another piece of each other in the Jury Room.
America's Cup Events Authority COO, Stephen Barclay has lodged two protests with the International Jury, the first believed to be over the non-attendance at the Louis Vuitton Party, at the opening of the Louis Vuitton Cup, by Italian Challenger, Luna Rossa.
He is also believed to have complained about the non-appearance of an AC45 from the same team at the Pier 27-29 opening day.
In turn, Luna Rossa has complained to the International Jury that Barclay's organisation, ACEA has used altered images of Luna Rossa, sponsored by Louis Vuitton fashion rival, Prada, on hoardings around the America's Cup Park.
Both protests were lodged on July 16 and ACEA's will be heard on July 24, with the return match taking place on July 26.
Tickets to all Louis Vuitton functions are highly sought after. The Italian team took the action after their was a refusal by event organisers/the International Jury to accommodate their request to have their protest over the rudder and safety rules held and decided before the commencement of the Louis Vuitton Cup.
