YA releases NoRs for trio of upcoming match racing events

Yachting Australia has released the Notice of Race for three upcoming Australian Championships, the 2013 Australian Open Match Racing Championships, combined with the Australian Women’s Match Racing Championships, and the 2013 Australian Youth Match Racing Championship.

The two events will be held at the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia in Sydney this September, with a high quality field expected for both Championships.

The Australian Open and Women’s Match Racing Championships will be held from Friday 20 to Tuesday 24 September 2013. The Championships is a combined event and all women’s teams will also participate as part of the Open Championship.

The Championships will include two round robins followed by semis and finals and a sail-off for minor placings if time permits. The Notice of Race can be downloaded here.

The Australian Youth Match Racing Championships will be held from Wednesday 25 to Sunday 29 September 2013. The Championships will also include two round robins followed by semis and finals with the Notice of Race available here.

The CYCA's new fleet of Elliott 7's will be used for the two Championships.

Youth Match Racing Worlds – Great performance for the locals on Day 2
The wind eased; sailors began to feel at home; the leaders - Caledonian and Australian - confirmed their positions. Australians, CYCA members, who finished second in the first Round Robin, also enjoyed a very nice day. Mid afternoon, in the second Robin, Harry Price - the Australian skipper - defeated the Caledonian crew.

Two US teams to compete in 2016 Youth Match Racing Worlds in Noumea

The World Match Racing Tour Newport entered its match racing phase today. The World Match Racing Tour Newport entered its match racing phase today. While Newport Harbour was fog-free and blessed with sun all day, there was a long pause mid-way through the Qualifying Group Sail-offs as the wind slowly veered from the north into the sea breeze direction of the southeast. But from there it built to a shifty 15 knots, more than enough for the nimble M32 catamarans to fly.
