Winter Ice Breaker Centreboard Series, Round 3

by J.Walters A.Tarnaski on 18 Jul 2014
Brendan Rourke
After the huge success of the first two rounds of the RPAYC Winter Ice Breaker Series, it is time for round three this Sunday the 20 of July.

With over 70 boats registered, this event calls for some frosty action amongst the centreboard class including Optimists (Green/Silver/Open), Lasers (4.7/Radial/Full), Finns, 29ers, F11s and Open classes.

After a windy second round of the RPAYC Winter Ice Breaker Series, competition for the third round is looking fierce with everyone raring to get back on the water and break through those winter blues. Despite the brisk forecast we are expecting another big turnout of sailors from all around Sydney to take on the winter chill and blast their way around the course. The day consists of three windward/leeward races on beautiful Pittwater. With racing starting at 0930, competitors can be assured they will get the best of morning winter breeze.

The courses have been specifically designed to cater to every Class to provide close, fast paced racing.

The final round of the Ice Breaker Series is fast approaching on Sunday the 17 of August with the fleet gearing up for some great winter racing and training before the Summer seasons kicks off in September.

Racing is followed by a prize giving and an optional buffet style BBQ lunch in the Halyards Bistro at RPAYC. The welcoming atmosphere create the ideal scene for families and competitors to spend time together.

It’s not too late to enter and get involved, so bring down your boat and join the experience.
