Volvo Ocean Race - Peça de reposição tem 30 metros e exigiu uma operação complexa de logística para chegar a Vila da Regata em Itajaí. Veleiro navega a motor e deve atracar na segunda-feira (13)



O novo mastro do barco Dongfeng Race Team já está em Itajaí (SC) e aguarda a chegada do barco para que a equipe chinesa comece a instalação. A peça, que veio dos Emirados Árabes Unidos, exigiu uma logística diferente de transporte. O mastro foi colocado em um avião e levado a São Paulo. Na sequência, a estrutura que sustenta a vela e tem 30 metros de altura foi posta num caminhão. Antes da chegada à cidade catarinense na manhã deste domingo (12), a Coordenadoria de Trânsito de Itajaí e da Polícia Militar fecharam as ruas que dão acesso à Vila da Regata para facilitar o transporte. A operação durou menos de uma hora.



'Não é o fim da saga. Temos muita coisa pela frente', afirmou Bruno Dubois, diretor do Dongfeng Race Team. 'Nós estamos contentes com a chegada do mastro. Acredito que dará tempo de instalar a peça a tempo da largada para a próxima etapa. Serão três dias de trabalhos para preparar o mastro. Nosso objetivo é colocar o barco na água na quinta e...bingo...correr a regata local do sábado, quem sabe'.

A equipe de terra do Dongfeng já começou os trabalhos para a montagem. A partir desta segunda-feira, quando o barco deve chegar a Itajaí, a operação ficará mais intensa. 'Espero que nada mais quebre até o fim da regata. Dedos cruzados'.



O mastro do Dongfeng quebrou antes da equipe chinesa contornar o Cabo Horn. A tripulação tentou achar uma solução para retomar a regata com segurança, mas a decisão foi abandonar a prova e ir com motor ligado até Itajaí. A quinta etapa foi vencida pelo Abu Dhabi Ocean Racing. MAPFRE e Team Alvimedica completaram o pódio no Brasil.
