Volvo Ocean Race - Las cosas van bien para Team SCA 24 horas después de la salida de la etapa 8 entre Lisboa y Lorient (Francia): las chicas han optado por quedarse en el grupo junto a la costa, y lideran. MAPFRE les sigue a 6,2 millas. Nos lo cuenta el oficial de comunicación en la crónica de guardia.

'Al mirar el tracker en estos momentos, así como a la clasificación general, uno se pregunta, ¿quién debería cubrir a quién?.

Abu Dhabi Ocean Racing está marcando a Team Brunel. Team Brunel lo hace a Team Alvimedica, y MAPFRE también. Team SCA cubre a Team Vestas Wind.

El único equipo que consigue navegar libremente es Dongfeng Race Team, pero por la razón equivocada: ayer por la noche hacia las 21:40 cayeron a la última posición.

Sucedió al toparse la flota con una tormenta eléctrica que provocó vientos en direcciones opuestas, y que los barcos tuvieran dificultades para seguir su ruta.

El navegante de Abu Dhabi Ocean Racing, Simon Fisher, comenta en los blogs cómo su equipo había pasado días estudiando la ruta, posiblemente para que esta tormenta echara toda esa preparación por la borda.

El tiempo no está haciendo lo que se suponía que iba a hacer.

La flota se ha dividido en dos grupos. El más pequeño se sitúa más al Este, y está liderado por Team Vestas Wind, en plena pelea con Team SCA.

Abu Dhabi Ocean Racing encabeza el grupo del Oeste. A ambos líderes provisionales les separan sólo 12 millas, pero dados los diferentes microclimas en lo que a viento se refiere, son suficientes para que se den grandes variaciones en velocidad de los barcos y rumbo.

Hoy podrían volver a juntarse.

Team Vestas Wind ha protagonizado una gran remontada, de último a primero entre los dos últimos partes de posiciones'.
