'The Fabulous 40s' is the official book covering the past 15 years of the Farr 40 class and was launched on 1st July in Porto Cervo. The book was presented by former Class Presidents John Calvert-Jones and Jim Richardson, who together with Vincenzo Onorato and Lang Walker backed the project, during a reception at the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda in Sardinia.

The presentation saw a group of current and former Farr 40 owners as well as friends of the class gather to celebrate the publication of the volume which is the culmination of several years of work on the part of the Class Association and the stakeholders. Aptly titled 'The Fabulous 40s' and produced with the support of long-time Farr 40 Class sponsor Rolex, the book tells the story of what is one of the most successful contemporary one-design racing yachts worldwide.

The 240-page hardcover coffee table book focuses on the annual Rolex World Championship regattas held across the globe since 1998, and features a host of iconic Farr 40 owners and yachts in addition to the current fleet.

With words by renowned yachting journalist Bob Fisher and over 350 breathtaking images of the fast and furious racing that characterizes the fleet, supplied by world-class photographers such as Carlo Borlenghi, Daniel Forster and Kurt Arrigo, 'The Fabulous 40s' is destined to make a riveting read, both for Farr 40 owners past and present and for sailing enthusiasts in general.

Vincenzo Onorato, three-time Rolex Farr 40 World Champion (’06, ’07, ’08) one of the book’s stakeholders, summed up what The Fabulous 40s means to him: 'When I think about my life in sailing I don’t think about the two America’s Cup campaigns or even about the 19 years I spent in the Quarter Ton class in my youth; the best memories are those linked to the Farr 40s and I am pleased that this book has captured the spirit of the class so wonderfully.'
