Taser Australian Championships Day 2 - The Race Officer, Peter Southworth, decided to run three races to get ahead of the program and potential light winds for tomorrow. This enabled the 68 boats to get another great afternoon of sailing in the 12-16 knot SSW.
The oldest competitor in the fleet Bob Lorimer, 82, sailing with his son Dave Lorimer in their boat Dad and Dave, shows he still has it and led to the first mark in the second race. Unfortunately they weren't able to hold their place, but are still in fourth in the Super Grand Master division.
The next Australian Championships will also include the World Championships to be sailed in Busselton, WA January 2015, and Lloyd Lissiman and Fiona Campbell from Perth showed that the local fleet will be hard to beat with a well deserved win in race five.
After the first drop race the top three boats are now within one point of each other with Rick Longbottom/ Darryl Bentley having a slender lead.
