Sydney International Boat Show - Boat operators are reminded to maintain a proper look out and keep to the right of the channel with additional boats moving around Sydney Harbour in the lead up to the Sydney International Boat Show which starts tomorrow.

Roads and Maritime Services Maritime Director Angus Mitchell said despite the change of venue this year for the undercover exhibit part of the boat show, there would be hundreds of boats on display at the usual location at Cockle Bay Marina.

'Free ferry services will be available for people to park at Darling Harbour and transfer to the indoor part of the boat show which will take place at Glebe Island,' Mr Mitchell said.

'Buses will also transfer people to the boat show from Darling Harbour as there will be no water access by recreational vessels to Glebe Island.'

He said with extra ferry and commercial vessel movements around Darling Harbour and Glebe Island and boats being moved into the display area at Cockle Bay, there would be an increase in boating traffic.

'The key message for boaters on the harbour is there will be a lot of activity with different sized vessels moving about over the next five days,' Mr Mitchell said.

'Skippers need to observe the collision regulations, remember who has right of way, keep to a safe speed, wear a lifejacket and maintain a proper lookout at all times.'
