Sunseeker Australia Cup 2010.

The City of Perth has some added excitement this month with the 2010 Sunseeker Australia Cup from Wednesday 24th - Saturday 27th November. The finals will be held on Perth Water on Saturday afternoon 27th November. We invite you to come along and join us, bring you power yacht and view the action. This is the premium international match racing regatta on the Australian yachting calendar bringing the world's best match racing sailors to our city water to compete on the matched fleet of Foundation 36 class yachts.

Racing will be conducted in the mornings on Matilda Bay and on Perth Water in the afternoons. Perth Water is the perfect location and course for a South Westerly breeze.

Limited depth in this area ensures a tight course and intensity of racing as the teams tack and gybe using every strategy and rule in the book to gain the advantage. Ten teams will battle it out for the Sunseeker Australia Cup and to qualify for the Monsoon Cup (Malaysia), the last of the World Match Racing Tour events and decider of the 2010 World Match Racing Champion.

Competitors attending this year's 2010 Sunseeker Australia Cup are:

Ben Ainslie (GBR), Mathieu Richard (FRA), Torvar Mirsky (AUS), Ian Williams (GBR), Ian Ainslie (RSA), Reuben Corbett (NZL), Phil Robertson (NZL), Keith Swinton (AUS), William Tiller (NZL); and Peter Nicholas (AUS).

This year our event village set under the Australian Flag on Riverside Drive will be a hive of activity so if not on the water just drive down, parking is available, meet the competitors and enjoy the festivities with the race course right in front.
