St. Maarten Heineken Regatta - Holiday gifts for a range of entries!

by Heineken Regatta on 24 Dec 2014

St. Maarten Heineken Regatta organizers, with the holidays quickly approaching, are getting into the spirit of giving, through their entry giveaway. This campaign was successful for the 2014 regatta to generate some early entries, and event organizers waited this year till the Holiday Season to once again give something back to their participants. Several regatta entries will be able to earn themselves a waived entry fee, while others will be eligible to win official regatta gear. To date there are 50 boats already entered for the event, from a variety of countries.

The following early entries are eligible for the below mentioned prizes:

• The next five entries to officially register online or through the regatta office will earn themselves a waived entry fee for the regatta.
• The first five regional boats (Registered in the Caribbean) will receive an official 2015 regatta tech t-shirt at registration.
• The first five entries over 40ft will receive an official 2015 regatta t-shirt at registration.

Current entries include boats from as far away as Lithuania, Uruguay and Norway as well as registrations from neighboring islands like Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic. This international event has had as many as 280 boats enter the event in the past and the race committee is bracing for entries to rise well above the 200 mark, as boats from around the globe make their way to the Caribbean for the 2015 racing season.

Several weeks ago additional races were announced, as well as the option to race in both the St.Maarten Heineken Regatta and the Gill Commodore's Cup for all participants. Entering early always helps the race committee when working on class allocation, so organizers urge all participants to take a few moments in the upcoming holidays to sit down and log in to enter your boat. If you have already registered in the last several years your user name and login should still be valid, making it just that much easier to register online.

Registration is easy and can be done in several ways. Visit the official regatta website and top-center is an 'entries' tab, click there and you will be taken to the on-line registration form. Follow the instructions and within minutes your vessel will be officially entered to race. Should you be on the island of St.Maarten you may stop into the regatta office located at the Sint Maarten Yacht Club in Simpson Bay and ask any of the regatta staff to assist you with your entry.
