Sport NZ gives Lifetime Achievement Award to ISAF's Adrienne Greenwood

ISAF Vice President Adrienne Greenwood has been given a Lifetime Achievement Award at the annual New Zealand Sport and Recreation Awards, held in Christchurch, New Zealand.

Greenwood is a well-known figure within the sailing community. In addition to being involved with the sport at the grassroots coaching level, she has had a number of significant management and governance roles.

She spent 14 years as CEO of Yachting New Zealand and plays a major role on the International Sailing Federation, where she currently sits as Vice President. Her other work has included four years as Chair of the Women's Sailing Committee, and from 2000-2008 she was on the Working Party on Women's Representation. She has been an Olympic selector and organiser of four Olympic trial events in New Zealand, and involved in organising three 470 World Championships.

Adrienne served on the New Zealand Sports Tribunal for eight years, and has been on the board of the Northern Mystics Netball franchise and the boards of both Auckland and New Zealand Golf. In recognition of her contribution to a number of sports she has been awarded an ONZM for her services to ISAF website

Terry Kohler, driving force of North Technology dies at 82
Terry Kohler who purchased North Sails was the driving force behind the North Technology Group, has died aged 82 Terry Kohler who purchased North Sails from Lowell North over 30 years ago and was the driving force behind the North Technology Group, has died aged 82. With the combined company of North sails and Southern Spars, Kohler created the 'Engine above the Deck' concept which married the technology used to build the sails and spars to be designed and work as an integral unit.

You could imagine that being familiar with all that Harken produces and stands for is a lengthy process. So if you were going to be the person at the top in Australia, it would be best for you to have immersed yourself in sailing from an early age. When you grew up, being one of the technical service team would be more than a handy apprenticeship, as it were.

Abell Point first accredited Global Gold Anchor Marina
Abell Point Marina in Airlie Beach, Queensland is the first marina to be accredited under the Global Gold Anchor Scheme. Abell Point Marina in Airlie Beach, Queensland is the first marina to be accredited under the Global Gold Anchor Scheme. The Scheme is a joint venture initiative of The Yacht Harbours Association (TYHA) and the Marina Industries Association (MIA). The Scheme is for marinas what the star rating scheme is for accommodation. The Scheme rates marinas on a scale of two to five Gold Anchors.
