Soften the ride with Zhik Deckbeaters

by Liz Rushall on 1 Jul 2015
Zhik Deckbeaters make hard decks history! Available in long pants and shorts Liz Rushall
Recognising its not just dinghy sailors who need hiking shorts, Zhik’s Deckbeaters® will soften the ride on hard decks when hiking over toerails or sitting and trimming for long periods.

Yacht sailing is fundamentally a ‘sitting down sport’, which after a long day afloat can become hard on the backside and also on your back.

Deckbeaters® come in Pants and Shorts and have an integral contoured seat panel, made with strategically placed 7mm neoprene padding, creating a comfortable base for long sessions on the water. Constructed from a stretchy Spandex with a UV50+ treatment, they have a tough, durable rear panel reinforced with Zhiktex™, a highly abrasion resistant fabric. Zhiktex has a unique 3D knit construction making it stretchy and flexible, so your Deckbeaters® move with you when you are working on deck.

The neoprene seat padding is perforated to allow important breathability and for water to drain away quickly.

Available in either Shorts or long Pants in unisex sizes XS to XXXL, Deckbeaters® can be worn under deck shorts, waterproof trousers or over a wet suit. They are highly versatile for all ‘seated’ watercraft and work as a comfortable hiking pant for yacht crewing and dinghy sailing, as well as softening the ride for kayakers, canoeists and rowers too.

RRP:
Shorts GBP £82.50; AUS $145; Euro €99.00; USA $115
Pants GBP £119.00; AUS $215; Euro €149; USA $169

Available in leading chandlers and Zhik Stores in Cowes, Atlanta, Sydney and Torbole.
