Sesquicentenary Cup 2015 Bernie Kaaks
The Sesquicentenary Cup was held on Saturday the 31st of January to celebrate the Royal Perth Yacht Club’s 150th anniversary and it was a resounding success!
This momentous occasion was well supported by not only our Members, but also those from South of Perth Yacht Club and Royal Freshwater Bay Yacht Club, resulting in 198 yachts nominating for the big event.
Congratulations must go to the three placegetters:
1st Andrew Hossen Sirroco (RPYC)
2nd Bill Currie Bodega (RFBYC)
3rd Nick Melidonis Hellas (RPYC)

Only five seconds separated the second and third placed boats. Thanks must go to the handicappers who successfully assigned fall numbers to the 198 boats and created a close and fair race.
Thank you also to our team of volunteers, who successfully started and finished the huge fleet!
The party afterwards was well attended and great fun. We thank Wild Oats for their sponsorship on the day, especially the sponsorship of the ever-popular fireworks display.
