The SeaLink Magnetic Island Race Week, which starts next Thursday August 27, will keep entries open right up to registration day making it possible for last minute entries to join in the fun.

SeaLink’s Queensland General Manager and Race Committee Chair, Paul Victory, says it’s all part of the north Queensland hospitality. “Keeping the entry door open takes the pressure off those skippers still trying to get around to getting their entry lodged or simply just trying to make up their mind about entering.

“Either way, last minute entries are always welcome at Magnetic Island.”

For those skippers needing an extra hand or two on board, Townsville Sailing Club’s Andrew Wallace is standing ready to help out with allocating crew to boats.

The race week divisions are IRC, Performance Racing, Cruising Spinnaker, Cruising Non Spinnaker, Multihull Racing and Multihull Cruising.

Entry numbers have reached 60 with boats from around Australia and crews from across Australasia soon to converge on the stunning Magnetic Island.

Entries can be lodge online at www.magneticislandraceweek.com.au or by contacting Mike Steele at Townsville Yacht Club on 0417 017551.
