Sail Nova Scotia Holds Annual Awards 2014 Sail Nova Scotia
Sail Nova Scotia held its annual award ceremonies Friday night (November 21) at the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic, before a packed house, to recognize the best sailors in the province in 2014.
Capturing the Sailor of the Year award was Paul Tingley, now a five time winner of the award. Paul and his teammates Scott Lutes and Logan Campbell won the silver medal at the International Federation of Disabled Sailing World Championships which were held in Halifax.
Capturing the Male Sailor of the Year award was Nathan Reece who skippered his boat Climax to regatta wins at Chester Race Week, Prince of Wales, and the Convoy Cup.
Winning the Female Sailor of the Year award was the 49er FX team of Erin Rafuse and Danielle Boyd who won the National Championships and were top North American boat at the Worlds.
The Hal Davies Offshore Sailor of the Year award was presented to Scott MacLeod who won his division of the Route Halifax St. Pierre race and also chaired the organizing committee.
The Brian Todd Youth Sailors of the Year were Nathan Dunn and Antonia Lewin-LaFrance. Antonia won the Canadian Youth National Sailing Championships in the Laser Radial Class while Nathan was fourth in the very competitive Laser class at Youths.

Max Flinn & Luke Ruitenberg – Legacy Fund Winners
Eric Purcell – Radial Circuit Champion
Laura Manuge and Liam Field – 420 Circuit Champions
David Sapp – Opti Circuit Champion
Merit Award winners were Georgia Lewin-LaFrance, Ben Ruitenberg, Will McInnes, Luke Ruitenberg, David Sapp, and Ryan Anderson
