Ronstan Australian Fireball Championship overall

by Robin Inns on 7 Jan 2015
Fireball fleet enjoying the conditions at Gosford, NSW - 2014-15 Ronstan Australian Fireball Championship. Michelle Thompson
The 2014-15 Ronstan Australian Fireball Championships were held from December 28th 2014 until January 3rd at Gosford Sailing Club, New South Wales.

The enthusiastic fleet experienced predominantly light to moderate conditions with plenty of wind shifts to keep it interesting!

Racing was tight in all races with the overall winners not decided until the final race.

The top three teams were using different combinations for their set ups. Robin and Joel were using North sails on a Selden Cumulus mast, Tom and Jack were using P&B sails on a Superspar M7 and Michael and Richard were using North working gear also on the M7. These three teams were all using Winder hulls. Other sailmakers were also well represented throughout the fleet with the teams using Alexander sails and John Clifton sails showing great boat speed.

The Australian Fireball fleet would like to express their thanks to the Gosford Sailing Club for their hospitality.

Next year our national championships move to Lake Cootharaba in Queensland where we once again get to experience fantastic Fireball racing in warm flat water conditions!

For more information check the Fireball website.
