Rimouski-Anticosti - Quatre voiliers en lice pour la course

Une dizaine de navigateurs, répartis sur quatre voiliers, prendront la mer, dimanche, à partir de la marina de Rimouski, pour réaliser le parcours de 1 200 kilomètres de la deuxième course de régates Rimouski-Anticosti.

« Pour préparer le départ, il reste beaucoup de choses à faire! D'abord, je commence avec le mât... ». Assise sur son voilier, accosté à la marina de Rimouski, la Torontoise Diane Reid s'affaire aux derniers préparatifs en vue du grand départ de dimanche.

Celle qui fait de la voile depuis sa tendre enfance considère cette course dans le golfe du Saint-Laurent comme un bon entraînement pour la mini-transat France-Guadeloupe qu'elle effetuera en octobre prochain.

« C'est 650 miles, alors c'est une bon entraînement et c'est la même sorte de bateau que celui que j'utilise pour la mini-transat », explique-t-elle.

Les équipages passeront jusqu'à 10 jours en mer pour faire le tour d'Anticosti et revenir à Rimouski.

Mais les voiliers seront deux fois moins nombreux aux bouées de départ de la course cette année en raison, notamment, de bris d'équipement.

Philippe Laville, qui effectuera le parcours Rimouski-Anticosti pour la deuxième fois, explique qu'il ne s'agit pas d'une sinécure.

« Le fleuve, vous le connaissez autant que moi, il n'est pas toujours clément. Le fait de faire un aller-retour aussi, ça fait qu'à un moment donné, on est confronté à des vents défavorables », explique M. Laville.

Il semble que la difficulté du parcours n'a d'égal que l'optimisme des concurrents. « Ça va être difficile, mais je veux gagner ! », lance Philippe Laville, en Video
