RYA Joining Point Competition – Winners announced

by Emma Slater on 5 Oct 2015
Joining Point competition winners - Aigua Sea School RYA
Throughout September the RYA ran a special competition where clubs, training centres, marinas and other organisations signed up as Joining Points were in with a chance of winning some great prizes while at the same time earning commission for their organisation.

Thirty three Joining Point organisations took part in the month long competition, who between them introduced 108 new members to the benefits of RYA membership, however it was Aigua Sea School in Mallorca who claimed overall victory signing up 14 new RYA members.

'We are delighted to win the September Joining Point competition. We will continue to support the RYA through promoting its membership, and the importance of the work the organisation does, in the UK and abroad. Thanks for the goodies ... what a great prize!' commented Linda Revill, principal at Aigua Sea School.

As well as earning commission for each of the members signed up, Aigua Sea School also clinched the bumper prize package made up of:

· Gill Tarp Barrel Bag
· Bollé Tigersnake sunglasses
· Sailing Mates Coach pack and Sailcloth Wallet from Bulb
· Two tickets to the 2016 London Boat Show
· Two tickets to the 2016 RYA Suzuki Dinghy Show
· British Sailing Team Replica kit - t-shirt and cap
· And an RYA goody bag including OverBoard bag, Powercase charger, RYA umbrella and much more…

Competition for the top prize was pretty close with Hollingworth Lake Water Activity Centre coming a close second, introducing 13 new members, and Allabroad Sailing Academy in Gibraltar and Powerboat Traning UK coming in joint third, both signing up 10 new RYA members.

“The competition was just one way for us to say thank you to our Joining Point organisations for promoting the benefits of RYA membership. We’ve been delighted by all the hard work and effort they have put in during the month and we hope they enjoyed the added incentive of a bumper haul of prizes for their organisation”, commented Conor Swift, RYA Membership Development Manager.

The RYA Joining Point scheme provides a quick and easy way for clubs, training centres and organisations registered as RYA Joining Points to encourage their customers to join the RYA and experience the many great benefits of membership from discounts on products and services, one-to-one boating related advice and support from technical, cruising and legal experts and much more.

Each Joining Point Pack represents a potential £1000 in commission payable to the club, training centre or organisation. Commission is paid on a quarterly basis and the amount depends upon they type of membership and the number of members signed up.
• £10.00 for each new Family Membership
