Luke (Colt) O'Connell has jumped to the top of the leaderboard after two day's racing in the 2016 Int OK Dinghy Interdominion Championships, being held at Manly Sailing Club.
Two further races were sailed in a light offshore breeze.
Overnight points leader Dan Slater, scored his third win of the series in the first race of the day, but was tossed out of the second race of the day for a starting infringement. As yet competitors are not allowed to discard their worst score, and Slater is expected to move up the points table from his current seventh overall, whn a discard is applied.
Second overall after the first day, 1977 World Champion, Peter Lester joined Slater ashore for a similar infringement the second race of the day. But he had also scored a 14th place in Race 3 and now has a difficult series ahead of him.
Three Australian sailors sit in the top five on overall points after the second day of racing. Mark Jackson (Black Rock YC) is second overall, eight points behind Race 4 winner, Luke O'Connell, with Peter Robinson (Drummoyne SC) one point behind in third. Mark Skelton is fifth overall and third Australian.
