North South Yachting secure Australian distribution of Salona Yachts

by North South Yachting on 20 May 2010
North South Yachting is proud to announce their appointment as Australian dealers for Salona Yachts. The announcement comes following negotiations with Salona to expand their distribution throughout Australasia using the NSY network. Salona Yachts are Croatian built performance cruisers manufactured with a focus on quality, performance and comfort. Salona Yachts are releasing new models throughout this year; the range comprises 34’, 37’, 41’ and 44’. NSY will be launching the brand at the Sydney International Boat Show with a new Salona 44.

All Australian imported yachts will be packaged by NSY to optimise them for local racing conditions. Specifications will include a stainless integral grid unit for maximum strength, infusion hulls and decks for optimum strength and weight and a wide selection of options on finishes and performance enhancements. The appointment of NSY as Salona Yachts distributors heralds the return of high performance yachts to the range of boats being sold by across their network of eight independent agents in all states of Australia.

Bob Mulkearns, MD of North South Yachting has been working with the Salona factory since late last year to ensure the launch of the new models will deliver a flexible platform for performance sailors. North South Yachting expects to see the close working relationship develop to add key racing events hosted in Australia and supported by the Salona factory.

North South Yachting and the Salona factory have developed an Australian race-ready package including infusion technology hull and decks as standard and instrumentation options from Raymarine or Tacktick. All Salona Yachts come with the availability to add the IBC (Infusion, Basalt, and Carbon) maximum performance option and a selection of timber finishes and interior layouts to allow customers to select the level of comfort and performance that suits their sailing needs.

Sailors can expect to hear more from the emerging Salona brand in the near future as more models are developed and race results come in from the European summer sailing season. The range of Salona Yachts starts at $238,414 for the Salona 34 and goes up to $591,040 for the Salona 44 IBC.
