North Sails 3Di technology has won the Barcelona World Race, the Volvo Ocean Race, and now the Vendee Globe Over the past three years, North Sails 3Di technology has won the Barcelona World Race, the Volvo Ocean Race, and now the Vendee Globe. The first two finishers for this spectacular race carried full North Sails inventories around the world, with the third placed boat a partial inventory.

Ken Read named as new President of North Sails Group
Veteran sailmaker and world champion sailor Ken Read to take over as President of North Sails Group in early January North Sails announced today that Volvo Ocean Race skipper and veteran sailmaker Ken Read will return to North Sails in the role of president in early January, 2013. Read will take over for current president Gary Weisman, who has served at the helm of the world's largest sailmaker for 16 years, and who plans to retire within the next 4 months.

The rapid take up of the new technology of 3Di has surprised even North Sails’ NZ Designer, Burns Fallow. 'Two years ago we would have had ten 3DL sails for every 3Di. Now it is about even.'
