In under a month, the Newport Yachting Center will once again dress the city’s waterfront in couture yacht fashion as it hosts the annual Newport Charter Yacht Show. Scheduled from June 17-June 20, the event is the only one of its kind in the U.S. and features a collection of world-class luxury charter yachts – from 80 feet up to the super yacht size of 150-225+ feet – showcasing their glamorous offerings to hundreds of attending charter yacht professionals in search of the perfect size and fit for their clients.

In its 31st year and only its second under management of Newport Exhibition Group, the show already has 30% more registered yachts and vendors than at this time last year.

'The quality of the boats coming to New England this year really shows that owners and brokers believe they can book charters here,' said Burgess Director of Americas Matt Emerson (New York, N.Y.) whose company has two of its top superyachts registered in the show: the 151-foot luxury motor yacht Katya and the brand new 129-foot motor yacht Safira, which will be making its charter show debut at the Newport Charter Yacht Show. 'Newport is the yachting destination of the U.S. in the summertime, and in an intimate setting like the Newport Charter Yacht Show, the registered yachts are able to shine, because the brokers can take their time to learn about each individual vessel and its crew without getting overwhelmed.'

The charter industry professionals to whom the show caters exclusively include agents, owners, brokers and captains. Consumers are invited to attend if accompanied by a broker.

'In the charter world, industry-only shows are the way to go, because they allow for charter agents to focus solely on experiencing each yacht the way that their clients would do during a charter,' added Emerson. To help attendees become even more familiar with the yachts, they are invited to participate in educational Seminars, flavorful Culinary Competitions and vibrant 'Yacht Hops.'

The week kicks off with a Captain and Crew Reception on Sunday, June 16 at 6:00 p.m. in the Hospitality Lounge (open daily).

For the second consecutive year, the non-profit YachtAid Global has been named the show’s charitable partner. The organization is dedicated to changing lives by utilizing a network of over 500 yachting industry professionals to deliver humanitarian aid aboard superyachts cruising to isolated regions around the world. A Closing Party/Fundraiser to benefit YachtAid Global will take place on Thursday evening from 7:00 – 10:00 p.m. at the Sunset Terrace Tent on the show site.
