The CNC Yacht Club organizes two Match Racing events - Youth New Caledonia Match Racing (U23) and Open New Caledonia Match race.
13 crew, including three Australian crew, one kiwi crew and nine local crew and not less than 100 matches are scheduled for the 39 sailors.
Registered crew on the Youth New Caledonia Match Race 2015 (U23): 9 to 13 October 2015. We are pleased to welcome the best Australian and New Zealander club in Noumea.
• Cruising Yacht Club of Australia - CYCA: and the Youth program. The CYCA won the New Caledonia Match Race last year with Sam Ellis.
• Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron - RNZYS: the RNZYS is used to win the New Caledonia Match Race except last year! Chris Steel came in Noumea in 2012.
• Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club - RPAYC: Tom Spithill and his crew come back for the second time in Noumea. This year, Will Dargaville is the favourite.
• Sunshine Coast Sailing Team - SCST is a combined Match Racing Program team between Mooloolaba Yacht Club (MYC) and Noosa Yacht and Rowing Club (NYRC).
The favourite Caledonian Crew are:
• Cyril Fortin, Kim Goetz and Jérémie Picot, they sailed last year on the harken and Musto youth match racing in Australia.
• The women crew with Tiphaine Leroux, Jade Lesté, Morgane Duban and Pauline Berhault. This women crew is face to face to the eight others male or mixes crew.
Open Match Race: 13 to 18 October
Six crew are registered. This Match Race is our National event. The best local crew are registered Tugdual Piriou, Alan Quéré. The Tahitian Yann Rigal also competes in the event. He has a very good experience of Match Racing (he takes part in Europe Match Race Championship and World J80 Championship). The Australian Team from the Sunshine Coast and the Youth Caledonian Cyril Fortin also competes in the open event. A very good opportunity for this two crew to improve their level.
In 2016 New Caledonia is holding the World Youth Match Racing Championships. These events (New Caledonia Youth and Open Match Races) will permit foreign crew to discover our racing area, Nautical Base and boats
16 nations will compete in our lagoon in June 2016.

New Caledonia is a small island situated near the Tropic of Capricorn between Australia and New Zealand, New Caledonia offers some of the best sailing conditions in the world. Located in the South Pacific, surrounded by a magnificent lagoon, with year round trade winds “le caillou” (the pebble) has a lot to offer in addition to its beautiful beaches and bright sunshine. New Caledonia provides the opportunity to enjoy authentic French cuisine and boutiques, Melanesian culture and a variety of scenery with a similar standard of living to Australia and New Zealand.
