Day One of The Mobium Group Windsurfer One Design Australian Championships at Rye, VIC karen murden
The first two days of the Mobium Group Windsurfer One Design Australian Championships have been a high wind action fest on Port Phillip, with 15 to 25 knots of breeze across seven races really sorting out the men from the boys.
Will Wright of NSW has sailed superbly, clocking six wins in very challenging conditions. There are two more days to go for the event with more wind forecast for Saturday.
The Windsurfer One Design continues to go from strength to strength, with many new boards being shipped from the manufacturers in Sydney's Dee Why to fleets across the world, including a growing fleet in Italy.
Days three and four of the Australian Championships will include the marathon, slalom and freestyle events, with the results being combined to give an overall Australian pentathlon champion.
